Enhancing a Ghanaian power company’s contracts to reduce risk and increase revenue
G&J Technical Services Ltd ("G&J") is a reputable Ghanaian engineering company specialising in supporting a range of industries with backup power. Whether it is assisting large-scale, government-backed projects or helping private sector solutions, over the past 30 years they have played a key role in supporting reliable access to back up power across the country. In May 2025, G&J launched a new product line, UPS, and are moving into solar products by the end of the year. They are a reminder of the need to continually adapt to the needs of your market and the success that comes as a result.
Reducing your risk, increasing your revenue
When working with parties such as suppliers and customers, its important to ensure your contracts are robust, catering for various eventualities and reducing your risk exposure. A high risk exposure can result in reduced revenue, with uncapped outgoings to manage the risks your business is exposed to. Clearer contracts reduce risk and help you retain the revenue you've generated. Clear contracts also mean increased clarity and confidence for customers and clearer responsibilities for companies, a win-win for customer focused businesses. We provide ongoing legal support to G&J mainly in reviewing their contracts and policies. Recently G&J wanted to review their existing practices and ensure they met the international standards the business strives to operate by. We worked with G&J to review their range of contracts, including contracts they enter into with customers when suppling back up power products, with a view to streamlining and improving their provisions. We worked with their new Managing Director to reduce the business' risk exposure and increase clarity for both them and their customers. We also included internal playbook for their sales team who manage certain contracts, making the contracts simple and quick to produce, so their time can still be focused on selling.
At Count & Sol, we’re here to protect the sales you’ve closed.
💡 C&S Tip: When entering a new contract with a customer its essential to carefully review the terms and ensure the contract is clear on areas including:
responsibilities of each party
what is being supplied
pricing and payment terms
warranties
what happens in the event of a dispute
Having clear contracts not only saves your team time in producing and negotiating them, it saves your business the cost of resolving any disputes that can arise, wiping out your hard earned revenue.
